Sky Sports reporter Johnny Phillips has become an internet sensation after his near meltdown during the Championship play-off match between Watford and Leicester.
Footage of Philips' hysterical commentary on the dramatic last moments of Sunday's game at Vicarage Road has been viewed more than million times on Youtube.
Late drama: Johnny Phillips could not believe what he was watching
The match was tied at 2-2 on aggregate going into the 96th minute when Leicester were awarded a contentious penalty and the chance to secure a place in the play-off final at Wembley.
Philips provided live commentary of a spectacular double-save from former
Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia triggered a remarkable counter attack with
Watford breaking up the field and Troy Deeney netting at the other end to seal a place in the play-off final.
Thousands of fans leapt onto the pitch, manager Gianfranco Zola was sent tumbling to the turf and Phillips almost lost his composure as he tried to describe the dramatic scenes.
He screamed at viewers: 'I do not believe what I have just seen here.'

Brilliant! This lad, Gary Neville and Chris Kamara for the next FIFA game!

He must be a Hornet, it is a great piece of Sky theatre. He brings the whole game to life, even though you have to guess what is happening. Well done Sky.

So he hadn't seen the Doncaster v Brentford game then? When exactly the same thing happened 2 weeks earlier!

What did they do? Stage a 96th minute penalty miss, followed by a staged quick break away and staged goal just so they could stage the commentary? Seriously, lol.- Blob, Bedworth, 14/5/2013 19:25 Yes, that's exactly what they do. The commentator reaction market is worth billions nowadays, Philips' reaction here was worth £34.6million and it was clearly staged. Sadly, money is killing the commentator reaction business.

The Leicester fans are all congratulating Watford for a great game and a great atmosphere. All I can say is you Leicester fans a pure class for doing so. Us prem boys would moan a lot, but you guys are true fans. Every bit of luck for next year.

Looks completely staged to be brutally honest. - Alan Partridge, manchester, United Kingdom, 14/05/2013 16:35 What did they do? Stage a 96th minute penalty miss, followed by a staged quick break away and staged goal just so they could stage the commentary? Seriously, lol.

When you love the game sometimes you forget to stay cool.

What nonsense. His commentary was excellent. It was an exciting moment. He should be on the main panel if you ask me.

Brilliant! The presenters and pundits on Sky Sports show a genuine passion for the game. The right balance of entertainment, insight and banter. Their coverage is miles ahead of any other sports broadcaster in the UK. BBC and ITV practically sleep walk through their coverage.
